London, 1884: A murder sends shockwaves through the city. For H Division of the Metropolitan Police, the case has already been solved: Thomas Smith, a working-class factory worker, is the murderer. As part of standard procedure, Scotland Yard sends the young Detective Arthur Vane to investigate the case. But Smith’s nine-year-old daughter, Lizzie, is convinced that her father is innocent. Desperate to prove it, she steals the entire police file. Now it is up to you. Together with the inexperienced Arthur, follow Lizzie’s trail through the dangerous streets of London. Recover the file, examine witness statements and expose manipulated evidence to uncover the true murderer. But time is running out! Can you bring the truth to light before it disappears forever into the fog of London and an innocent man is convicted?

The game’s story is grounded in the real history of Victorian London. It introduces students to the sharp class divisions that shaped the city, particularly in the East End, and explores how prejudice and social status could influence the treatment of suspects and the course of an investigation. Through teamwork and interactive riddles, students gain insight into everyday life in late nineteenth-century London and consider whose voices were believed, whose were ignored and how privilege could affect a person’s fate.
